Gas Balloon partially inflated at a take off site near Gladbeck in Germany. The black pipe rising up from under the balloon into the "appendix" at the bottom of the balloon is the hydrogen filling pipe which is removed when the balloon is sufficiently full of gas. Sandbags are already being hung on the basket to counterbalance the lift of the gas. This gas balloon club even has a club house where aeronauts can stay overnight before the flight.
